Tandem supports SolidWorks (.sldprt, .sldasm) and STEP (.stp, .step) files for 3D viewing. Other file types (PDF, images, documents) can be uploaded as artifacts but won’t get 3D processing.
Individual file uploads are limited to 15 MB. For larger CAD files, consider using the SolidWorks add-in for direct sync.
The AI agent is powered by Claude and has access to tools that read and write your program data. It uses semantic search to find relevant content and can create, update, or query nodes, requirements, and other data. See AI agent for details.
Yes. Tandem supports importing requirements from Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files with column mapping. See Requirements for the import workflow.
Use permission groups to manage program access. Create a group, add members, and assign programs to the group. See Members and roles.
Tandem works in modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The 3D viewer requires WebGL support, which is available in all current browser versions.
Yes. Tandem’s 3D viewer runs in the browser and doesn’t require any CAD software. You can view, annotate, and discuss models uploaded by team members who use SolidWorks.
