Tandem’s search finds relevant content across your entire program — nodes, requirements, documents, and artifact metadata. Tandem indexes your program data using vector embeddings, so search understands meaning, not just keywords. Searching for “thermal management” will find content about heat sinks, cooling systems, and temperature requirements even if those exact words aren’t used. Semantic search covers:
  • Node names and descriptions
  • Requirement statements
  • Document content (PDFs, Word, Excel, images)
  • CAD metadata
  • Wiki pages
For exact matches, keyword search scans text content across the same data types. Use this when you know the specific term you’re looking for. Open the search bar from the sidebar or use the keyboard shortcut. Type your query and results appear ranked by relevance. Click a result to navigate directly to the matching node, requirement, or document. The AI agent also uses semantic search when answering your questions. Ask it to “find anything related to battery” and it will return relevant results from across your program.
