The Tandem SolidWorks add-in connects your desktop CAD environment to your Tandem program. Design changes sync automatically, keeping your team’s data up to date.

Installation

Download the add-in

Download the Tandem SolidWorks add-in from your organization settings or contact your admin for the installer.

Install

Run the installer and restart SolidWorks. The Tandem panel appears in your SolidWorks toolbar.

Connect to Tandem

Open the Tandem panel in SolidWorks and sign in with your API key. Select the program you want to sync with.

Syncing designs

Once connected, the add-in monitors your SolidWorks sessions and syncs:
  • Part and assembly files — Uploaded to Tandem automatically
  • Design changes — Updated when you save
  • Assembly structure — Reflected in the node tree

Design sessions from SolidWorks

The add-in can create design sessions from your CAD workflow. As you make changes, decisions and events are captured automatically, creating a record of your design process.

Multi-document sessions

When working across multiple parts and assemblies, the add-in tracks all open documents and associates them with the same design session.
